Oh new Camera, how I love you so… (and how you can too)

10.01.2019 by georgie // Leave a Comment

I have a new toy, a new camera and we are one. Anyone who knows me will know I adore cameras and have inherited a large (still growing!) collection from both my grandfathers. The are my pride and joy, including my first SLR – an Olympus of course – and a much cherished Yashica that my mum has passed down to me.

  • Want to win a signed copy of Taverna plus an array of the best Greek ingredients? I’ve teamed up with my favourites @odysea_ltd and one of you will win all this! Head over to their page for more details. You’ll need to follow us both, like their post and leave a comment. Good Luck!
(Btw I just have to say I really do adore all their products. The honey, the extra virgin olive oil, Carob syrup - one of my favourites - all stunning. Not an ad, just a huge fan and sharing the Greek love).
  • Orange blossom and almond shortbread - kourabiedes - for miles. I have such a weakness for these delicate snowy Greek Christmas biscuits. These are the ones I made with my yiayia last week, I’m bagging them up this morning to start sending out as gifts. Homemade is always the best right? The recipe is in Taverna ❤️
  • Looking for alternatives to turkey this Christmas? Look no further! The brilliant team at @thehappyfoodie asked me to takeover their newsletter this week and in it I’ve listed my favourite non-Christmas centrepieces. I rarely cook turkey (we have many veggies and pescatarians in our family, so I’ll do a cockerel and fish) so this was a perfect project for me. Sign up if you want ideas! The link is in my stories. And yep, this stunning cauliflower shawarma from @berberandq features in it.
  • We were all a bit over excited this morning when we saw that Taverna had been listed as one of the top 20 Food books for 2019 in the Observer Food Monthly (I may have shed a tear, don’t judge me). Thank you for your kind words @mollytaithyland and for your support @allanjenkins21 and the @obsfood team!
It’s been 8 months since Taverna came out and having it feature in these lists and people gift guides means the world to me. So much blood sweat tears went into writing it. As I’ve I said a million times, even if I go on to write more books (hopefully), this will always be ‘the one’ for me. So thank you, thank you, thank you ALL for your support. X
